SasuSaku fever

Actually… It’s really just Sakura fever.

Got back on track these few days, reading and watching Naruto…
(Though just not a lot of it so I still miss Itachi-death parts ^_~)
And of course my couple fandom blew up in my face like fireworks *cue song*

I’m even reading doujins now (>_>);;
Snippet (read right to left):

Actually I really like Suigetsu too haha.
Taken from Sasuke x Sakura doujin, Again

I’m going to spend the whole of my tomorrow reading more doujins (*3*)
Yes, I even read the Japanese ones.
Some how my mind forces itself to read and piece all the kanji and hiragana/katakana together, so I somehow understand D:

Though doesn’t mean I understand all the stories though hhaa.
There are some with really bad art! (@_@)

*goes back to Sakura cave* (✧__✧)

Ciaoooosuuu~~ (^_~)

Journey to Otome Road

Finally I’m not being lazy and writing the entry about Otome Road at Ikebukuro, Japan.
First off, guides that I used to get me there were: Dark Mirage’s and ochanomu’s.

Otome Road is the Yaoi/Boy’s Love central for female otakus in Tokyo.
Although, not everything is about BL, a large portion of goods found in stores cater towards such an audience: fujoshis!!.

First, we have to get to Ikebukuro!
Take the Yamanote Line (The light green one) to Ikebukuro station or take to JR station and get off at Ikebukuro and head to sunshine city.
[[Click here for subway map if you need it~]]

I took metro, so directions here are from metro station.

Follow the signs and exit out of the East exit.
Alternatively, look for signs saying “To Sunshine”

If you have exited wrongly (like me!), don’t panic.
As long as you know the exit heads towards Sunshine, you should be fine!

Head out of the station, if  you see 2 BIG camera stores, head for the one that looks like this:

Follow along this road and follow directions heading to “Sunshine building”

Follow it!

You will reach a crossing with Lotteria:

From Lotteria you want to continue walking straight all the way!

Walk pass Sanrio gift gate,

You are on the right track!

Continue straight!

Forward forward!

Pass Tokyu hands:

A bit more!

You will come to another crossing  after walking past Tokyu hands.

As you can see, Toyota Amlux building is directly opposite you.
This is towards the start of the Otome Road !

When Ochanomu mentions in his/her guide that there is a “highway bridge” above your head, this is the place!
Cross the street and head towards the Toyota store.

On your right, you should see Family Mart some what near.

Walk pass Family Mart and TURN left

What you see when you turn left!

Edited pic for clearer instructions:

Head straight down after you turn, and you will find the very first marker of Otome Road, the Animate building!

Oh my~!

This is the main branch of Animate, so even non-BL fans can go into this building.
It’s actually very safe (even for guys who hate yaoi!) haha.

I spent hours and hours here~!

Next to the  Animate building is Sunshine city.
I didn’t go in.
But my brothers and parents went into Namco’s Namja Town.
It is a theme park located inside Sunshine city.

There’s all sorts of things to do inside apparently, but my brothers are not anime-fans so they didn’t know about the characters and such inside.
My elder brother however took flyers for me for the 2 cafes he passed by.
Bleach cafe and Kuroshitsuji cafe!!

My mum apparently went to the Bleach cafe to get a Kon-inspired dessert because they looked pitiful. (Everyone went to the Kuroshitsuji one! Haha)

I would want to visit it sometime! The food looks really good!
There are cakes, sundaes, ramen and what not all with Kuroshitsuji themes / characters!

However, I’m not sure if the cafes change every time. So hopefully it will still be there when I go back (T_T)

Anyways enough about Sunshine City! I can’t write about it much anyway since I didn’t go there this time.
However, besides the theme park, there is a lot of shopping outlets there!
Your family or friends not interested in anime can hang around in that building while you walk around Otome Road~ !

Back to Otome Road!
By the time I got out of Animate, I was dizzy with happiness + it was late.
So I didn’t take photos of how to get to the other stores.
What I did was walk around quite aimlessly! I think all I did is walk straight frankly.

At Dark Mirage’s page, if you read through all of it, you will find a link in their to a map!

So, walking down:

It’s Lashinban! 2nd hand store! with some first-hand items too~
Find character goods, DVDs, games etc~!

You will also find K-books stores.
Go into one of the stores, and you can get flyers ~
Flyers for cosplay news, Swallowtail butler cafe and directions to the other K-books stores.
The various K-books stores are all near each other~
So it won’t be too hard to find~

I only took pictures of K-books Cosplay store and their dollfie store

If you are a J-rock fan, Brand X is located next to the cosplay branch! :D
I went in to get some J-rock flyers~
There’s photographs and autographs of popular J-rock bands inside there too.
Makes it worth while to check it out!

At the cosplay store, all I bought was a second wig cap for 500yen haha.
I wasn’t there for costumes anyway! :P
You can also get wigs in there too~

As you move forward, you want to cross over to Mandarake and K-books Doll store !

To go to Mandarake, you take the stairs down to the basement.
K-books doll store is on the street level.

I went to the doll store first and spent hours there.
It’s a 2nd hand store for BJDs.
The prices are a steal for some !
You have to be patient and find those treasures though.
Volks sets are much cheaper here then getting them 2nd hand on DoA’s marketplace!

They group clothes according to sizes~!

Before making purchase, the saleslady will take out the pieces in their packing for you to check.
There are no refunds so you must be satisifed with the condition of these outfits.

They sell clothes, shoes and wigs ~ But no dolls!
Although there are doll displays in the store. Please do not touch them though!

If you are looking to buy 2nd hand dolls, sometimes stores like Lashinban/K-books will have them in their display cases~!

Mandarake is a doujin and manga store FILLED with yaoi and shounen-ai books! (Also games and audio CDs!)
It’s practically heaven haha.
It would be good if you know the japanese characters of your favourite mangaka, so you can go to search in the shelves or ask a sales assistant about it.

I’m not a hardcore BL fan, but I desperately wanted to buy something haha, so I lingered in this store for very long trying to find something haha.
But I didn’t get any manga in the end and purchased 2 yaoi doujins. A Kuroshitsuji one (I got the last copy! Phew!) and a Sengoku Basara one haha.

The Naruto section was HUGE. They even labeled it with “Sasuke Seme” or “Naruto Seme” dividers for convenience.

And that’s about it~!
It was super late when I came out of Mandarake so I decided to go back to the hotel~

These were my gets!:

Isn’t alot because I blew a lot of $$$ on gyaru clothes haha (^_^);;

About this, I bought it to support Mii-chan at Animate and it came with a hand-shake fan event ticket (T^T)
However, I wasn’t able to make it cause I wouldn’t be in Japan then (T___T)
*super sad*

Hope I’ll have better luck next time~~!!

If you need more help and info about Otome Road, you can also check Xandria’s store guide and information~!
Hope I’ve helped in your fujoshi adventures in Tokyo~ (^_^)

My Japan trip in 2010

in a nut-shell.

Too darn lazy to post too many pictures, they are all on Facebook anyway~!
Will post specific topic posts in later days ~

On the first day, I touched down at Tokyo and went to Harajuku.
We were planning to show my lil bro yoyogi park and all the bands and stuff, but it seemed like it just wasn’t a day for bands or any performing acts.

I was too tired to even shop but I made mental notes of what stores I wanted to come back to take a look at~

What a familiar sight, this road~~~

Our first place to have lunch was at Kyushu Jangara Ramen at Harajuku.
Voted one of the top ramens in Japan.
My elder bro loves ramen, so this whole trip covered a few top ramen places we “had to” visit.

We went at 11am, so thankfully there wasn’t any queue. There was a long queue after though!
We also had a lengthy interview with some Japanese broadcasting network about foreigners coming to eat ramen in Japan and about this particular store’s ramen. It was all in Chinese though so none of us were too psyched for it. We actually declined earlier, before going into the store but they managed to corner as when we were eating halfway and filmed anyway (=_=)||

My verdict is… try the miso one! The broth is much tastier!

The next day, we took the shinkansen to Osaka~
Lunch was ramen again… (>_>);; This time it was Kinryu Ramen.

Apparently they have many stores throughout Osaka and you will notice the store by a huge green dragon outside.
Well, this green dragon is always blocked something when I see it (=_=)||
If not for my minimal Japanese reading skills, we would have never found this store (>_>):;

Staff-san cooking~

There were only 2 choices at Kinryu.
Char siew and MORE char siew.

Lil bro and I waiting for our ramen~

Still hungry after… we went to find our favourite gyoza~

..which has apparently won many awards before!

The store used to have many huge trophies as part of its decor.

I actually HATE gyoza.
But this was super yum!
Their ramen is actually not too bad too!
Too excited and hungry, I gobbled up the gyoza without taking a pic (.__.);;

Also had awesome spongy cake thing! D:

Though I shared with my bro.. still. (>_>);;
My parents are getting older, so we stopped like every 3 hours to eat something. |||ORZ

We also had Okonomiyaki the next day~

I don’t think this was a very good store, but DAMN THATS EX FOR OKONOMIYAKI !
It was about SGD16+ for one.

The first time in my trips to Japan, we went to Hiroshima.
My dad wanted to go to the peace museum.

I thought that was a bad idea…
For myself anyway.

I left the museum feeling very upset and distraught :/
Didn’t take any pics coz I think it’s disrespectful to do so :///

The only thing that made me like Hiroshima was that they had Momiji manju!

Ok, honestly it was just manju shaped like a maple leaf, but it’s unique to Hiroshima or something and I love maple leafs, and I love manju. WHATS THERE NOT TO LIKE ? Haha.

I went crazy and bought even more of it, in different flavours too. I annoyed the crap outta my bros by going “MOMIIIIJIIIII MANNNJUUUUUUU” everytime I saw one.

Back to Osaka, we had this AWESOME POSSUM UDON at this God forsaken place.
It was really difficult to find. And once in the building = WHERE THE FUCK ARE WE?!!

The store’s called Umeda Hagakure.

Too hungry and tired to snap photos, but this udon has won awards too!
It’s a small store with limited seating space.
The store owner (?! I assume anyway) was super friendly and funny!
He could speak a little bit of English and he was super duper nice!
They make good tempura too!

The funny thing was, we were all so tired from walking everywhere that my elder bro actually said
ok let’s give u, let’s eat something else”, to my mum. I walked towards them and sighed, “What? Give up?! When we are standing outside of the store we are looking for??”

My elder bro seriously does not open his eyes when he looks for stuff, really.
(=__=) This whole trip was full of moments like these :(

We also went to Ringo town where I picked up more Cecil McBee stuff~

I heard this is bigger than Gotemba outlet stores in Hakone.

Gotemba has a larger variety of brands and stores, including my favs: Anna Sui, Vivienne Westwood etc etc!

We also went to eat some beef in Kobe at our favourite restaurant: Moriya~

I’ll talk about it another time ~

I spent a whole day shopping at Osaka, so I didn’t shoot anything. My bros and dad went to see the panasonic museum and the gigantor figurine amongst others.

We stayed in Kyoto for 2 nights~
We went to see Kinkaku-ji, the golden pavilion temple

Ticket as entry is not free~

It’s a really nice place !

You can purchase charms too.
I jokingly told my dad I needed one for love… he took it seriously and bought me one for “a good match” (>_>);;
Oh well, I hope it works? Haha. Haven’t figured out a place to hang it yet though.

At night, we went to Gion.
We actually managed to see many Maikos on the street!

My lil bro must be my lucky charm haha.

My dad stood next to one Maiko, while waiting to cross the street and he blatantly stared like O___O
Didn’t snap pics coz I didn’t bring my flash :(

I was really happy though!
I have many books about Maikos & Geikos, so getting a chance to finally see some was amazing~ (*_*)

We also ate the “best sushi in Kyoto” at Izuju:

They are famous for their Inari sushi and Mackaerel ones.
We had to take away the sushi coz we already ate dinner and wanted to just try some sushi as a snack, but they had to ask us to leave as they have very limited space (only 5 tables!!!).

The inari one had other things inside the beancurd skin.
Not sure what it was, I just chewed and swallowed haha.

I actually didn’t like this sushi…
Maybe it’s because I don’t like mackerel.
Bros loved it though!

If you still can’t find Izuju, it’s located really near the shrine!
I walked past it like 5+ times (I was looking for the icecream store kinana instead).
One of the nights, we were there and I happened to be reading my brother’s “must eat notes” when I spotted it (._.);;

We went to Nara deer park too!
Had to take a picture of this sign:

I have gotten bitten on the arse by a hungry deer who came from behind when I was feeding other deer (>_>);; and almost gotten “knocked down” by another crazy deer who was impatient but I backed off before it did anything.

Cute deers but beware really!

The deers attack anyone with biscuits you buy at the many vendors on site.
When you take the biscuits, you hold them above the deer, and if the deer is nice enough, it would bow to you!

Or in some cases, BITE YOU for being an ass for trying to taunt it haha.

Don’t keep feeding the same deer too! Because they will follow you and chase you.
Really, I’ve seen it happen to some people.
They sometimes bite your garments too, so be careful!

Many visitors freak out and throw the biscuits at the deer in fright.
Pretty hilarious scene!

Elder bro and I ~

Roam free ~!!

The parfait prince interrupts this post to show you….

Off to Hakone, the place of hot springs and spa eggs!

I always take a photo of HK and the egg~
The old one was nicer though ! :(

I was excited to eat kuro tamago again~ !
I called it spa eggs coz of the Harvest Moon influence. Speaking of which, I’m going to pick it up again haha *bored*.
Actually… honestly… I think it’s only yummy coz you make the effort to walk all the way up there to the top.

We also went to the Open Air Museum~!

“There it is, dumbass (>_>)”

Forced my elder brother to take this pic, bless his heart and his high tolerance levels of my nonsense. I kept demanding to know where Miffy was haha.

I wasn’t really excited for many of the works in the museum intially, and only wanted to find Miffy haha.
I had a Miffy plushie when I was young and it was one of the cutest thing EVER!

Being in the creative line, I obviously appreciated many of the beautiful works out there besides my Miffy hunt obsession haha.
Not going to post all, but just one of my fav installments:

I eventually found Miffy towards the exit haha.
Didn’t buy any Miffy items though. Needed to save for more important stuff!

Back to Tokyo, I headed off to Shibuya!
I spent a whole evening there on my own, coz I disliked shopping with people who had zero interest in whatever I was buying. I hate the feeling of “burdening” someone :(

Anyways, I saw my favourite J-rock band!

Even though I’m no longer an active J-rock fan, I still support my gaze men!
I watched them grow from an indie band during their Disorder times and into the popular mainstream band they are right now. With tracks on popular anime, Kuroshitsuji 2 and appearances on variety shows.

Back in 2006 – 2008 maybe, I bought every mag article they came out on. [I should sell away some really (=_=)]
I purchased CDs and concert goods.
I got into heated arguments protecting them and what not.

I cried when I watched their liberty six guns live on the dvd I got and still treasure.
“They finally made it big!!” I kept yelling.
It was almost like watching your very own kid grow up and move out.

However, I feel like this “graduation” from J-rock had good benefits for my mental well-being, if not, my wallet.
Being a hardcore J-rock fan, you always encounter many band breakups or member changes. Especially unstable indie bands.
The pain when you hear the news is crazy. I once had 3 indie bands breaking up in one month. I just went mad. Hahaa.

So now, I only support the Gazette and Satsuki of ex Rentrer en Soi and some undercode artistes. Though, not as crazy like before :/

And now, I’m into K-pop! D:

And lookie! SNSD!

Funny thing is I used to be anti-SNSD. Weird how people change haha.
Top favs :  Yoona, Seohyun, Jessica and Soo Young ~! (=3=)

I also had the best Tonkatsu in my 21 years of being a human being!:

Maisen Tonkatsu.
Ate there twice cause it’s just soooo bloody goood!

One of the days, we went to the Tsukiji fish market too~!
However many stalls were closed.
Apparently in December, the fish market is so busy they close their doors for customers ?
We didn’t want to see the fish market actually, we just wanted to eat some sushi !
But the store we wanted to go to was in the section that was closed :(

Spent one of my afternoons at Ikebukuro, Otome Road!

My otome-road goodies!
I will do a post about it another day!

Menya Musashi Ramen!
For real!

I ate Menya Mussou Ramen, which was apparently ranked number 1 in Tokyo, but honestly Musashi is still my fav!

Look at the size of that pork!:

Also the ambiance is much more warm, everyone was very friendly and when they cooked, they made cute macho sounds!
Mussou was very cold and unwelcoming :/

If you looked at all the directions to Musashi, but you can’t still find it, it’s next to Sakura House.

My mum almost booked rooms at Sakura House haha.
It would have been nice to stay near awesome ramen :P

The alley you want to turn into is the one opposite Tully’s coffee!

Turn here!

I’m just gonna talk about this coz it’s the last pic in my cam:

Harajuku Roll!
It’s a nice sponge cake found in the cafe near Zara.
It gets sold out when evening hits, so best eat it during day time~!

Anyways, I’m quite happy with this trip!
I bought many things!
Dolly wink cosmetics, liz lisa items, tralala lucky bag and other tralala items, cecil mcbee items, more cosmetics, figurines, doujins, swimmer items, wigs, accessories, volks stuff, doll stuff etc~~~

I actually manged to stop myself from buying any punk or lolita stuff and spent mostly on gyaru items.

I’m really a happy girl :D
I can’t wait to go back to Tokyo again (T_T)
I can seriously just spend my days at Harajuku, Ikebukuro and Shibuya haha.

I can graduate!!
If academic results thus far are accurate (^__^)

Super happy!

I didn’t find my furry tail today at Bugis |||ORZ
But I spent A BOMB at gashapon machines.

The salesgirl even felt very bad for me and wished me luck many times.

Finally, after killing my wallet about 7+ times over:

I have the whole collection.
This is ONLY because I ONLY wanted ONE. And that is ITACHI! >(

Minato, I got on my last trip to Bugis months back.
Kakashi and Naruto from 2nd trip before meeting Kym. One was for her!
The rest = going with Kym to the store to play more on the same day!

Also super thanks to Kymmie who traded me back the Naruto for a full collection and spending $$$ on it too haha.
Seriously, my bestest best friend, cause no sane friend would do this shit with me ever! Hahaa.

Itachi now hangs on my wallet cause he’s my love.
Minato on my mini dslr camera bag~

No idea what to do with the rest, but I’ll figure out eventually.

The other day, I went to the Manga & Anime! Japan exhibit with my taichou~!

In collaboration with the Kyoto International Manga Museum, this manga exhibit was created~!
It explained the history of manga and showcased some famous mangas and anime~
They also explained how manga is created, produced and distributed amongst other things, quite informative, I must say~!

You can read manga there, but it’s all in Japanese… so…. (._.);;

Free manga you can take home with you~!

Time line ~!

Crayon shin chan & sailormoon~!

More about mangas and more mangas you can read~!

One of the lovely illustrations being displayed ~!
This is by Takahashi Macoto
The details in his work are so impressive

Illustrations by Takahashi Macoto.

Wall of illustrations by Singaporean artistes~!

I like the event space, it was very clean and very very well lit!
I also managed to snag a couple of brochures for my upcoming trip to Japan~! ^^

After visiting the exhibit, we went to have tea at Canele at shaw house~
We walked there instead of taking a cab haha. We didn’t know we were so near Orchard *facepalm*
This is sadly Taichou’s first time having macaroons! WHAT?!! Hahaa.

We ordered 6! Taken by my iPhone coz I was lazy.
Hazelnut and Violet are still the best~!

I can’t get tired of usamimis (*_*)

Love this ring!

Ahhh what will we do without technology haha

When I posted that picture on Facebook, another team mate from our Kuroichou group commented:

I can’t wait to cos Nemu again!
Hurry up Taichou!!! And rmb to ask Ken to be Ishida again coz he rocks as Ishida. Haha.

Cawaii Koohii & other things

Actually I didn’t go down to Cawaii Koohii for drinks, I was to meet cutepetz to collect my costumes I ordered through her via taobao~! I will recommend ordering through her (^-^) She’s really friendly and accommodating!

I went with my elder brother to the cafe today because he had to help me carry my costumes.
It was 2 really HUGE bags! (T__T) I felt really sorry for cutepetz who had to live with my costumes for so many dasys till I reached Singapore (X_X);;

Anyways, the menu was lovely!
They had a series of mocktails named after popular characters like Honey Sempai, Madam Red, Gumi, Kagamine Len and Rin etc~!

I ordered a Megurine Luka mocktail and for my brother, Ceylon tea~

My drink~

I was given a star-shaped stirrer later haha.
I tried stirring it but nothing .__.;;
So I left the syrup sitting there haha, one of the maids saw it and was like “ah! you have to stir it if not it’s not sweet at the top and super sweet at the bottom!”

Me: Ah! (.__.) *stirs*

Maido san: Do you want me to help you?

Me: (T^T) *nod*

Maido san: *furiously stirring*

Me: (ドキドキ) *grateful*

The maids are so cheerful and helpful!
The drink was also nice~ haha~

No comment on the ceylon tea because I’m a selective tea drinker haha.
My brother had no complains though~!

It was nice to also just sit and talk~ (^-^)

They also greeted you loudly and cutely when you enter and when you leave!

It’s definitely a place I wanna go again (^-^)
I’ll bring Steve shushu there hahaa!

Also bought Lego harry potter! They gave me a free harry potter order of the phoenix game too! :

One of the dresses I picked up today:

But I like it, it’s accurate and all! but WHOA !!

In fact the other dress is no different, FREAKING HUGE!!!!!!
So scary (T_T)

Elaborate female cosplays are just… wow.
Gonna go to daiso to get some vacuum bags so I can store them (>_<);;

Have to meet cutepetz again for my hellsing costume cause she left it again! Hahaha~

Also went to Chinatown today~
My favourite shop had the fabric I needed so I purchased 2m! (X_X);;
I really wanted 1m but this granny is always asking me to buy more haha.

Went to get gold trimmings and the sales lady was really beyond nice!
We kept laughing and joking around~
Also gotten satin gloves [FOR NO REASON (X_X);; I actually have gloves, but they looked so pretty (T_T)] and other things I actually don’t really need ORZ.
Chinatown sales people are really awesome if you’re nice to them too! So happy~ (^-^)
But I quickly walked away before I could spend anymore (X_x);;

Tomorrow I’m going to trim my wig, cause it’s like really long and doesn’t frame my face well :(
Go facial [no choice! only slot left (T_T)] then sew my boot covers. ORZ
Also have to take my lil bro out for dinner to congratulate him for finishing O levels~!

Actually maybe after gym, I’ll go sew boot covers hmm……
We’ll see how~
Need to find my gel insoles too since my boots are not of ideal height (=__=)|||
