As I sit here and type this, I’m in the midst of a (already) 2-hour skype conversation with my best friend, alone in my room on a Saturday afternoon.
There’s not much a of a conversation really. The only sounds I make are the tic-tats of my keyboard and clearing my throat once in a while as I surf the net. And my best friend only says, “Oh shit ! Oh shit” from time to time, as she plays Left4Dead on her laptop. On and off, I can hear the distant sounds of her cousin fussing around in the kitchen.
As weird as it may sound, it is strangely comforting to be connected to someone (whilst wanting to be anti-social, #isthatweird). I caught a bad cold a few days past and am very reluctant to leave the house. Not because I would be spreading germs to innocent people, but the thought of not having enough tissue papers to curb my dripping nose is daunting.
While I do want to be a couch-potato; watch TV and snack on cookies all day, my taste buds have gone wonky and eating cookies feel nothing more than chewing on crunchy air. There is no taste and definitely no joy in my treasured treats. As such, I have holed myself up in the comforts of my room, hugging a soft toy, surfing buzzfeed and listening to my bestie curse over our call.
I am bored, hungry and upset but at least I feel somewhat “connected” to someone in my hour of gloom. Thank you glorious technology. For if without, I would be probably on the floor, scratching out carvings on my wooden floor.
I’ve been away for days… playing this epic game, we all know as Skyrim.
I chose to be a Wood Elf, seeing as:
1. Why yes, I like archery
2. I wanted to be an elf / some other race but a human
3. They were the nicest looking elves
4. The Khajits all have weird spanish/mexican/what-have-you accents that reminded me of puss in boots
5. They didn’t seem like they were snobs or are racists (HAHA?)
I began on a wonderful journey!
Socializing, and getting 202422094 different quests.
After prancing around, avoiding the “main” quests, I decided, that, I, the Dragon-born, should go forth and meet with these Greybeards people.
The journey was treacherous… But I had with me, a fellow Wood Elf brother, Faendal, who was also an archery trainer!
Bless his soul, for he gave me free lessons in the art of archery. I could not have been happier.
(When I say “free” I meant, giving him money and then taking it back later. If Faendal is your companion, ask him to “trade some things” with you and you get back your coins)
On my way to the greybeards, we were attacked by all sorts of monstrosities !! Trolls, 209340294 bandits, wolves, EVEN MUDCRABS and the like! But Faendal and I persisted on, crossing land and rivers until we met up with a Redguard Mage who seem unstoppable. (Bitch killed us 3 times in a row)
After getting sick of loading, I decided that I should part ways with Faendal. And I would then dash past this nuisance, and get to Ivarstead on my own. Seeing as Faendal, a NPC, should make it back to his own home on his own. Experience with RPGs tells me that the only way he will die, is by my own hands. So we parted ways…
Faendal continued walking the same route as I.
Confused but trusting him to take care of himself, I sprinted past the mage and onwards to Ivarstead.
Upon reaching the cursed place, I realised my journey was not yet finish, I had to climb up a mountain to speak with the Greybeards. That journey was littered with sabertooth cats, dragons and trolls. Perhaps I needed Faendal after all.
As such I completed other quests before returning to Riverwood to seek his aid.
Days become weeks, weeks felt like months.
MY ELF BROTHER, WHERE ARE YOU!
I half expected him to have died by the hands of the Redguard, but upon scouring the interweb, companions died only if we kill them by accident, so where was my elf brother?
I came across this article, that completely expressed my sorrow at losing such a friend.
After a day of mourning in the human world, I went back on to find out how I could find his body… If he were dead.
And alas, he was.
To be honest, Faendal is not the greatest companion, he is not even featured in the best Skyrim companions to have list.
And I have surpassed him in archery (Faendal only teaches you up to level 50) so there was no need for me to have him around.
But he is my elf brother.
Though we share different parents, we shared the same Brosmer blood.
I HAD TO SAVE HIM!
A quick console command did the trick to confirm his untimely death.
By opening the console menu, for me it’s the “` ” key, type in: player.moveto 0001348C
and press enter then close the console menu by pressing ` again.
(if you use a different companion, just replace the numbers to their IDs you can use UESP to search for their IDs
e.g player.moveto xxxxxxxx )
I was suddenly teleported to his corpse and had to face the truth.
BROTHER!!
(I use the Windows OS on a MacBook Pro… so there was no screencap key and Shift + Apple + 3 did not work.. so bear with me)
I had to fight off trolls and hide from a dragon while trying to save his ass.
No matter what I clicked or type, I could not resurrect him at all.
I even dragged his body to a path… only to be killed by a dragon.
FAENDAL, YOU BASTARD, WHY DID YOU DIE AT SUCH A WEIRD PLACE.

My attempts at resurrecting him gave me a headache. And it took me hours to save him.
And I kept having to fight off enemies while at it and I kept screwing up.
The best way to resurrect your companion when surrounded by enemies, is to change your game settings to Novice.
I took out the troll easy now and moved Faendal.
As soon as I resurrected him, I accidentally pick-pocketed him and he attacked me..WHY BROTHER WHY! It was an honest mistake!
I loaded and started over.
Then as soon as Faendal resurrected, HE HAD NOTHING ON HIM.
All the gear that I bestowed on him VANISHED!
I loaded and started over again…
Other screw ups include:
1. Dragon killing us both
2. Troll falling on top of Faendal, unable to drag Faendal’s body or Troll’s body
etc.
It was a headache when Faendal’s ID did not show on my console menu.
I realised how to get past that easy, you don’t need to move your companion’s body. Alot of people have problem targeting the body proper, DO NOT GIVE UP AFTER A FEW ATTEMPTS! Just click everywhere on the body / around the body with the console menu open.
Before that, please take EVERYTHING from your companion’s body.
Steps:
1. Open your console menu. ” ` ” key
2. Using your mouse, click on every part of the body and around the body until their ID pops up. Faendal’s ID is 0001348C. It should show “0001348C” somewhere on the top of the console menu. I clicked madly till I saw the numbers. 3. Type : resurrect and press enter 4. Close the console menu “`” key
If you are using Lydia, and still have trouble, check this video:
(This DID NOT work for Faendal though :/ May just be a Lydia thing )

Quickly, while avoiding the dragon, I fast-travelled us both back to somewhere safe.

Taking no chances, after selling off all the gear I gave him, I fast-travelled him back to Riverwood while we finally parted ways.
Live on elf brother…. Live on.

Actually I’m also playing Lego Harry Potter with my lil bro but I’ve stopped it to play Fable 3 haha.

Poor boy, coz while I’m playing Fable 3 and catching up with him, he can’t play anything but his PC haha.

I thought of just getting $$$ as my bday pressie so I can get more cosplays done but my parents were deadset on getting me the ps3.. so basically my household is kinda like an arcade den. We are just missing out guitar hero and dj hero :/ Which I decided against getting due to reasons being:
1. not bringing ps3 over
2. NO WAY I’ll leave the guitar hero set in Spore where my annoying lil bro’s friends could touch
So yeah maybe DJ hero next month or so I dont know.
The catch is I buy my own games. Which of course is the rule to all (except lil bro who gets away with everything and anything).
Downside: no piracy on the ps3
Upside: WHEE INTERNET IS FREE and I don’t need no batteries.
Getting borderlands tmr for a smashing killing good time hehe.
Probably will also get some RPG game to pass the time.

I’m pretty miffed about the following things in KH 358/2 :
1. WTF Xion. She is kinda useless. From the start till now (I’m at day 171). Once she FORGOT how to use her keyblade and Roxas, the sweet boy (aka me) lent her the keyblade and what was my replacement? A FREAKING STICK. And limited usage of magic. So I pretty much let her do all the work while I whack stuff coming too close to me or when I find she is taking too damn long (which was often). And for the love of all things potato, she can’t jump very well.
2. Why can’t I be paired with Axel more?! I keep getting Xigbar and he is always being annyoing. And his attacks, they are sucking. And of course, I get paired with Xion lotsss. Axel by far = best partner ever. Xaldin’s not too bad too. I feel safe. HAHAA kidding. But they do better work than others.
3. Why don’t I ever get paired with Luxord? I never seen him fight so I’m kinda curious
4. Why did so many people die so fast ? :/
5. Why are the heartless called heartless when I collect their hearts? I DONT GET IT D: And WE are the ones who apparently dont have hearts, but we are called “nobodies”…. HUH?
6. Why is Roxas so annoying nice /dumb? I shrieked in anger so many times infront of my DS :( Especially in wonderland. I HATE DISNEY’S ALICE IN WONDERLAND!! For reasons too complex to explain but I seriously hate their version. But anyways, Roxas you are sooo cute but omg stop being kuku-brain ok. *pat*
7. Why can’t Xemnus be my partner? HEHEE. I have a thing for silver-haired villains from FF series haha. Except Loz, he’s one annoying crybaby.

I’m currently really enjoying Kingdom hearts 358/2 on the DS.
Pity some chara seem to have died or something :/
I hope it is certainly not the case.
I’m not really a huge Kingdom Hearts fan, but playing as Roxas seems much better as compared to using Sora in the first game.
I can totally see the whole axel x roxas thing now hahaha.
I was delighted to find that the sound effects for eating icecream is exactly what i hear when I bite into a lime split icecream ! Hahhaa. It’s really cute. Every time they eat, I would purposely turn the volume louder *whacko* Hahhaa.
Not a lot can be said about Dissidia: FF. I thought it had one of the worst game intros EVER. I was suddenly plunging into fighting something .. also the fighting moves are kinda stupid. Perhaps it was the character I used, but Sephy flew really high in the air and I couldnt hit the opponent who can’t seem to fly that high, or liked the idea of flying for that matter. Haha.
Going to give it another shot later~ Or I’ll just dump the game and stick to my tekken 6 hoho.
Soul Calibur like always is fucking easy. I hate the new charas though, Dempire or whatever shit. And the Kovar or whatever. If you get them at the higher difficulty levels, they can be quite imbar. (T_T) Kotar/kovar AIYA GOD OF WAR GUY especially. Wtf man.
As soon as I was back from my morning facial, all I did was play games haha.
Im having a huge headache now because I only slept at 7am. And I woke up at 9am plus to go for facial. Also I couldnt sleep during it as my beautician and I were catching up.
It’s amazing how I even played KH without dying haha. I love the Chrno Gear keyblade! Works freaking wonders!
